Rep. Cisneros Invests in IBM, Other Stocks Amid Quantum Computing Expansion
Representative Gilbert Ray Cisneros Jr., a Democrat from California's 31st Congressional District, recently made several stock trades, including buying between $1,001 and $15,000 in shares of International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE:IBM) on August 18th. This purchase was disclosed in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission on September 10th.
Cisneros also bought shares of Quanta Services (NYSE:PWR), Eaton (NYSE:ETN), and Walmart (NASDAQ:WMT) during the same period, while selling shares of DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH), NIKE (NYSE:NKE), Phreesia (NYSE:PHR), and Lamar Advertising (NASDAQ:LAMR).
The IBM stock purchase is notable because it comes at a time when the company is expanding its presence in quantum computing. IBM has recently announced partnerships with Lockheed Martin and the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre to develop a quantum innovation hub in Switzerland.
