Retail Investors Flock to Top Stocks Following Earnings Announcements
Nvidia Corp (NVDA) and Salesforce Inc (CRM) were among the top stocks that retail investors couldn't stop buzzing about this week, driven by earnings, AI infrastructure momentum, and corporate news.
NVDA reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings with revenue of $96.2 billion, up 106% year-over-year, beating estimates. The company guided for about $108 billion in third-quarter revenue and a bullish ~70% revenue growth outlook for fiscal 2028, far above analyst expectations.
Celebrating the AI-inflection point announced by NVDA CEO Jensen Huang, retail investors were highly bullish on NVDA post-earnings. Meanwhile, Salesforce reported second-quarter fiscal 2027 results with revenue of $11.35 billion, up 11% year-over-year, and adjusted EPS of $5.90.
Other stocks that gained significant attention from retail investors included Marvell Technology (MRVL), CrowdStrike Holdings (CRWD), and IREN Ltd (IREN). However, IREN's post-earnings decline was met with disappointment from some retail traders who mocked the stock's fall.
