Retail Media Networks Compete for Ad Dollars at NYC Event
At a recent retail and commerce media upfront event in New York City, 15 presentations from various consumer-facing companies were showcased to attract ad dollars.
Among the attendees were The Home Depot's Orange Apron Media, Albertsons, PayPal, DoorDash, and Macy's Media Network, each attempting to differentiate themselves from the competition.
The common thread among these retail media networks is their focus on measurement, driving specific outcomes, interoperability through different consumer channels and advertising platforms. They also emphasized aggregating signals about consumers to anticipate their behavior.
For instance, DoorDash's CMO Tim Castree highlighted the company's shift from delivering dinner to everyday needs, providing data on shopping pairings and day-specific ordering habits.
