RGB Peripherals Cause BSODs in Windows 11 After Latest Update

Windows 11 users are experiencing issues with freezing, game crashes, and BSODs after installing the latest August update, KB5121003. The problem is caused by peripherals that support RGB lighting, which can install drivers with file names similar to 'inpoutx64.'

The driver, inpoutx64, uses the Windows registry, and temporarily disabling it can fix the issue. Microsoft has provided steps on how to do this, but warns users that doing so may cause erratic behavior or stop working entirely for RGB features.

Some games affected by the update include Arc Raiders, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and The Finals. Users who have installed the update are advised to disable the inpoutx64 driver using the Windows registry as a workaround until Microsoft pushes out another update to resolve the issue.
