Riyadh Air Expands Fleet with Boeing, Airbus Widebody Orders
Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's newest airline, is expanding its fleet with new orders for Boeing and Airbus widebody jets. The airline has committed to purchasing 34 additional aircraft, including 28 more Boeing 787 Dreamliners and six additional Airbus A350-1000s. This order brings Riyadh Air's total confirmed aircraft orders to 91.
The new aircraft will support the airline's long-haul and ultra-long-haul expansion plans, with the B787-10 offering higher passenger capacity than its predecessor and the A350-1000 expected to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Riyadh Air currently serves six destinations and has opened bookings for several new routes.
The airline's fleet expansion comes just weeks after it launched commercial operations in June. The new aircraft are set to be delivered by 2030, with Riyadh Air aiming to serve more than 100 destinations by then.
