Rockstar Targets Microsoft and Discord in GTA 6 Leak Crackdown
Rockstar Games has filed subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord in an effort to identify alleged infringers behind the Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leaks. The leakers, who go by the name CyberLeek, released a series of videos showcasing the game's gameplay, maps, and other creative elements.
The requests for information were filed on August 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, is seeking data from Microsoft to identify who first posted the infringing content on GitHub.
A representative from Discord stated that they often receive DMCA subpoenas and review them as part of standard procedure. However, Microsoft has not provided a statement regarding the matter.
