Rockstar's Ultra-Secure Approach to Protecting GTA 6
Rockstar Games has taken extraordinary security measures to protect its upcoming game GTA 6. The company has installed privacy film on office windows after drones were allegedly used to photograph inside its workplaces. This is just one of several extreme security measures Rockstar has implemented, including requiring visitors to sign non-disclosure agreements and banning photography at work.
The studio's approach is similar to that of a Wall Street bank, according to Rockstar, with protecting GTA 6's gameplay and design likened to Apple protecting the iPhone or Coca-Cola protecting its formula. Employees are not allowed to use external storage devices, remote working is heavily restricted, and personal laptops and phones cannot connect to Rockstar's internal systems.
Rockstar's security measures come after several major leaks involving GTA 6, including unfinished development footage being published online after a hacker gained access to an employee's computer. The company has also employed five full-time investigators and a director to monitor and investigate potential information leaks.
