Rojas Returns Home: Columbus-Born Artist's Exhibition Marks First Hometown Show
Columbus-born artist Clare Rojas is returning to her hometown for an exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art. The show, titled Returning, will feature over 70 works of painting, sculpture, and performance from fifteen years of Rojas' cross-disciplinary practice.
The exhibition explores themes of memory, selfhood, and renewal through Rojas' art, which bridges abstraction, folk imagery, feminism, ecology, spirituality, music, and storytelling. The show's curator, Anna Katherine Brodbeck, notes that the exhibition offers visitors a chance to experience Rojas' work through the lens of the place where she first developed as an artist.
The exhibition will be on display from September 18, 2026, through February 7, 2027. During this time, Rojas will also perform as Peggy Honeywell at the museum's opening event, marking her first public musical performance in over a decade.
