Royal Air Maroc Expands Fleet with 18th Boeing 737 MAX 8 Delivery
Royal Air Maroc has taken delivery of its 18th Boeing 737 MAX 8, bringing its fleet to a record 69 aircraft. The plane arrived in Casablanca on August 27 and will be used for medium-haul routes to Europe, West Africa, and the Middle East. According to Le360, the aircraft lifts the number of Boeing single-aisle jets operated by RAM to 45.
The delivery is part of a wider expansion plan that calls for integrating 10 to 15 aircraft per year on average. Oussama El Farisi, the airline's Head of Engineering, noted that each aircraft passes through a rigorous technical process to meet international requirements and the company's own standards.
Royal Air Maroc is working towards quadrupling its fleet to 200 aircraft by 2037, as part of a contract signed with the state in July 2023. The airline has also launched a tender for up to 200 new aircraft, inviting Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and ATR to compete.
