Rushed Work Environments: Microsoft Study Reveals Last-Minute Slide Edits
A recent Microsoft report analyzed workplace productivity signals across its 365 platform and found that employees often cram their slide edits into the final 10 minutes before meetings. According to the company's 2025 Work Trend Index special report, there is a significant spike in PowerPoint edits at this time, with a 122% increase.
The report also notes that employees are interrupted every two minutes during core hours and that 60% of meetings are ad hoc rather than scheduled. This can lead to a rushed environment where deck-building gets squeezed into the gaps, and polish is sacrificed for meeting deadlines.
