Russian Drone Strikes Coca-Cola Facility in Ukraine, Causing Damage and Fire
A Russian drone struck a Coca-Cola production facility near Kyiv on September 3, causing damage and prompting a fire, according to Ukrainian officials.
The facility in Velyka Dymerka, located northeast of the capital, is operated by Coca-Cola HBC, one of The Coca-Cola Company's major bottling partners. All employees were reported safe.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the strike as a signal to the United States, arguing that Russia knew it was attacking a major American-linked business.
The damage is significant for Coca-Cola HBC, which has a direct operational relationship with the facility. However, The Coca-Cola Company's global business model and geographic diversification are expected to mitigate any potential financial impact.
