Russian Drones Hit Coca-Cola Plant Near Kyiv, Sparking Tensions with US
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Russian drones struck and damaged a Coca-Cola plant located near the town of Brovary, east of Kyiv. The incident occurred on September 3.
The officials stated that there were no injuries in the strike. In his nightly video address, Zelensky referred to the Iranian-designed drones as 'Shaheds' and said, 'Today, the Russians have hit a Coca-Cola plant with their drone. Coca-Cola is such an enemy that they set it on fire with their Shaheds.'
Zelensky also implied that the attack was a message to the United States, stating, 'It's a clear Russian signal to America. The Russians cannot be unaware that this is an American facility.'
Andy Hunder, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, stated that the plant's staff were uninjured and that the company was working with authorities to assess the situation.
