Russian Drones Hit Coca-Cola Plant Outside Kyiv
Russian drones struck and damaged a Coca-Cola plant outside Ukraine's capital Kyiv on September 3, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The attack occurred in Brovary, east of the capital.
No injuries were reported in the strike, officials said. 'Today, the Russians have hit a Coca-Cola plant with their drone,' Zelensky said in his nightly video address. 'Coca-Cola is such an enemy that they set it on fire with their Shaheds.'
The Iranian-designed drones were used to target the American facility, Zelensky alleged, calling it 'a clear Russian signal to America.' The plant's staff were uninjured, according to Andy Hunder, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.
Reuters Television footage showed firefighting crews arriving at the scene and smoke rising above the plant and over nearby fields. Hunder stated that the company is working with authorities to assess the situation and prioritize the safety and well-being of people.
