Russian Hackers Target Hotel Wi-Fi Networks with Fake Sign-In Pages

Microsoft has issued a warning about a new cyber threat targeting hotel Wi-Fi networks. The operation, called 'CaptiveCrunch,' is attributed to Russian hackers and has been active since May. These hackers use fake sign-in pages to steal login credentials and infect devices with malware.

The hackers tamper with Wi-Fi equipment at hotels and conference centers, redirecting users to fake Microsoft 365 login pages. This can make the attack difficult to detect, posing a significant risk to business travelers.

According to ReliaQuest, compromised Wi-Fi gateways have been found in several U.S. cities, targeting various industries, including financial services and healthcare.
