RWE Secures Long-Term Deal with Google for Oklahoma Solar Project
RWE and Google have partnered on a significant renewable energy project in Oklahoma. The German energy company has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with tech giant Google for the full output of its 155MW AC Crooked Creek Solar project in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. This is RWE's first solar development in the state.
The construction of the project is expected to begin later this year, with commercial operation planned for 2028. The electricity generated by the project will be supplied to Google's operations in the Southwest Power Pool market.
RWE estimates that the project will create up to 250 jobs during peak construction. This deal demonstrates the growing demand for renewable energy and the increasing involvement of tech companies in the sector.
