RX 9050 Falls Short: Benchmarks Reveal Substantial Performance Gap

The AMD RX 9050 graphics card has been put to the test in recent benchmarks, and the results are not flattering. The new card is significantly slower than its competitor, Nvidia's RTX 5050, with a substantial performance gap in synthetic benchmarks.

In 3DMark Time Spy, the RX 9050 scored 9,441, while the RTX 5050 managed 10,571, giving the Nvidia card a more than 23% advantage. The results are similar in Fire Strike and Port Royal, with the RTX 5050 holding a nearly 27% lead.

The performance differences were less pronounced in real-world games, but still significant. In Final Fantasy XIV, the RTX 5050 had an almost 19% advantage at 1080p and over 21% at 4K. However, some results were anomalous, with the RX 9050 performing similarly to the RTX 5050 in certain scenarios.

The raw performance difference between the two cards is around 10-25%, making the RX 9050 a less attractive option for gamers on a budget. The OEM-exclusive 4GB version of the card may be particularly hard hit, as it's already facing stiff competition from more capable options.
