Ryan Sieg Secures First Career Victory at Daytona
Ryan Sieg, a seasoned racing veteran with 15 years of experience, has finally secured his first career victory in the Winn-Dixie 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway. The win marks a milestone for not only Sieg but also his family-owned team, RSS Racing.
The victory came after Sieg overcame early setbacks and navigated through challenging traffic on the superspeedway. He reflected on the mental and physical demands of competing over an extended period, stating, 'It's tough sometimes... it's a bummer a lot of the times and you never think it's ever going to go your way, and you just got to be strong and just try to chase your dreams.'
Sieg remained committed to his family-run program despite considering opportunities with larger organizations in the past. He expressed relief and gratitude upon crossing the finish line, saying, 'When I saw those checkered flags, I knew it was ours... all the pressure that I put on myself and just all the hard work finally has paid off.'
Although Sieg's win at Daytona was significant, he did not qualify for the playoffs, which will feature the top 12 finishers from the series. The postseason begins with the Fleetio 200 at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina on September 5th.
