Ryanair Boeing 737 Stairs Linked to Majority of Falls
A study by the National Agency for Flight Safety (ANSV) has found that Ryanair's Boeing 737 retractable onboard stairs pose a significant risk to passengers.
Between 2023 and 2025, ANSV analyzed falls reported in Italy during boarding and disembarkation. Of 104 incidents, 85 involved passengers using the forward integrated stairs of Boeing 737s, accounting for 82% of cases.
The study found that Ryanair's Boeing 737 stairs are linked to more falls compared to airport stairways. Since 2021, Ryanair has registered 489 falls on stairs, with 360 (73%) occurring on the integrated stairway.
