Ryanair Challenges Passenger's Account of Mid-Air Window Incident

Ryanair, the European budget airline, is disputing a passenger's account of a mid-air incident involving a shattered aircraft window. In July, Ljubisa Karovic, 61, was severely injured on a Boeing 737 flight from Greece to Germany when the window beside him broke.

The sudden depressurisation caused Karovic to be sucked towards the broken window, but according to Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary, 'part of his face didn't get out the window.'

Karovic's lawyer had claimed that his head and right arm were partially outside the plane before he was pulled back inside. However, Ryanair is challenging this account, stating they 'don't think any part of his body got out the window.'

O'Leary emphasized that Ryanair is not trying to downplay the incident and will await the findings of the investigation being led by the US National Transportation Safety Board alongside Boeing and engine manufacturer GE.
