Ryanair Passenger Partially Sucked Out of Plane Window During Takeoff

A Ryanair passenger's head was partially sucked out of a broken plane window during takeoff from Greece last month, investigators found.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said bird remains were found inside the engine of the Boeing 737-800, suggesting it may have struck birds during takeoff.

A fan blade broke loose, sending fragments flying out of the engine and breaking the window, which caused a man's head to be sucked into the hole before fellow passengers pulled him back in.

The passenger suffered neck and shoulder injuries and friction burns. Flight attendants reported feeling loud, continuous vibration and seeing smoke or fog fill the cabin.
