Ryanair Taps Google Cloud for AI-Powered Operations
Ryanair, Europe's largest airline by passenger numbers, has inked a five-year deal with Google Cloud to enhance its cloud infrastructure and introduce artificial intelligence into its operations.
The agreement will enable Ryanair to use Gemini AI tools and DeepMind models for crew scheduling, management decision support, and reducing operational disruptions. The airline plans to roll out Google Workspace and Google Cloud services to 35,000 employees across its network to support its strategy of carrying 300 million passengers annually by 2034.
Ryanair's existing use of Amazon Web Services complements the new agreement with Google Cloud, which will implement a dual-cloud model reducing the risk of technology disruptions and improving digital systems stability. The airline will leverage Gemini Enterprise to create specialized AI agents automating operational decisions, optimizing crew schedules, and responding to schedule disruptions.
Additionally, Ryanair will utilize DeepMind models, including AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext, to support fleet operations and aircraft maintenance planning. The companies have not disclosed the financial terms of the five-year agreement.
