SAIB Sells Entire Stake in American Express Saudi Arabia for $381.36 Million

The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB) has announced that it will sell its entire 50% stake in American Express Saudi Arabia for SAR 1.43 billion ($381.36 million).

The sale consideration will be paid in cash, with an additional deferred amount representing the bank's share of distributable profits generated by the company from the signing of the transaction until completion of the share transfer.

The book value of SAIB's investment in American Express Saudi Arabia stood at SAR 637.70 million as of November 30, 2025, and the sale is expected to generate a gain of SAR 792.41 million based on this value.

The bank expects to use the sale proceeds to strengthen its financial position and support its strategic direction, in line with the best interests of the bank and its shareholders.
