Salesforce AI Agent Business Surges 205% as Revenue Hits $1.2 Billion
Salesforce's AI agent business is growing rapidly, reaching $1.2 billion in annual recurring revenue last quarter, up 205% year over year. Agentforce, the company's suite of AI agents that complete tasks like resolving support cases and qualifying sales leads, has been given 3.8 billion tasks to date.
Management had predicted faster growth nearly a year ago, but signed customer contracts haven't taken off yet. The company monetizes agents through premium seat upgrades, new seat sales, and prepaid consumption credits.
Salesforce gets paid for agents through three primary paths: upgrading existing users to premium editions that include unlimited agent use, selling new seats for its core Sales and Service Clouds, and Flex Credits, a prepaid balance that customers draw down to fund automated work.
