Salesforce Bets Big on AI Customer Service with $3.6B Fin Acquisition
Salesforce is making a significant move in the AI customer service market by acquiring Fin, a company that specializes in autonomous AI agents. The deal is worth approximately $3.6 billion and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce's fiscal 2027, pending regulatory approval.
The acquisition highlights Salesforce's aggressive strategy in leaning into AI agents as it competes with major tech players such as Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP in the enterprise AI space.
Marc Benioff, chair and CEO of Salesforce, said that Fin will strengthen the company's Agentforce ecosystem and expand its capabilities. He added that Fin brings proven agent technology and an incredible AI team that will complement Agentforce with powerful service agent capabilities.
