Salesforce Brings Cloud Platform to AWS SA Region
Salesforce has expanded its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host its cloud platform, Hyperforce, in South Africa. This move will enable local businesses to store their data within the AWS SA Region, specifically in Cape Town, and comply with data residency requirements.
Linda Saunders, country manager and senior director of solution engineering for Africa at Salesforce, noted that while Hyperforce has been available to companies in South Africa before, local hosting is now an option. This development will allow organizations in highly regulated industries such as government, financial services, and telecommunications to deploy new solutions and services more quickly.
The company's AI platform, Agentforce, including the Agentforce Trust Layer, relies on Hyperforce infrastructure. With Hyperforce hosted in SA, South African businesses can use agentic AI while keeping their data subject to locally hosted governance controls.
