Salesforce CEO Benioff Blasts 'SaaSpocalypse' Fears
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has dismissed concerns about a 'SaaSpocalypse', saying it's time to put such fears to rest.
Benioff made his comments after Salesforce released its latest earnings report, which saw the company's shares surge more than 12%.
The enterprise software giant is known for its customer relationship management (CRM) software, as well as its ownership of workplace messaging service Slack and data analytics platform Tableau.
Benioff argued that AI models depend on CRM platforms like Salesforce, rather than replacing them. He pointed to the fact that nine out of ten leading artificial intelligence companies use Salesforce and Slack, with spending on these platforms increasing by 435% year-over-year.
The CEO also highlighted the company's partnership with Anthropic, which has developed an AI model called Claude. Salesforce is integrating Claude into its platform, allowing salespeople to access customer data and perform tasks such as composing emails and updating records.
