Salesforce Cuts 1,000 Jobs Amid Shift to AI-Driven Operations
Salesforce is undergoing another round of job cuts, this time eliminating around 1,000 positions across various departments.
The layoffs primarily affect employees in marketing, product management, data analytics, and the Agentforce AI group. The company's focus on artificial intelligence (AI) is driving these reductions as it seeks to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Salesforce has been emphasizing its reliance on AI tools, with CEO Marc Benioff highlighting the technology as a core pillar of its product ecosystem. In fact, he described Agentforce as 'the core of every product we make now' during an earlier interview with CNBC.
The job cuts follow a similar move in August last year when Salesforce reduced its support workforce from around 9,000 employees to approximately 5,000 by deploying AI-driven systems. This shift reflects the company's commitment to leveraging AI in its operations and customer interactions.
