Salesforce Exceeds Expectations as AI Push Gains Momentum
Salesforce reported strong Q2 bookings performance at the Deutsche Bank 2026 Technology Conference, exceeding expectations. The company's deputy chief financial officer and head of finance, Mike Spencer, said the business has been focused on executing its plan laid out at Investor Day a year ago.
The recent results reflect 'the last three quarters of really, really hard execution,' according to Spencer. He noted that Q2 bookings performance was 'by a long shot' better than expected, with contract recurring product obligations (CRPO) and net new annual overwritten value (AOV) also coming in strong.
Salesforce's AI push is gaining momentum, with about half of recent Agentforce bookings coming from customers expanding consumption. The company is moving from AI experimentation to production use, with a goal of keeping gross margin stable or improving it while investing more in AI, data, and customer adoption.
