Salesforce Integrates Claude with Claudeforce Plug-in
Salesforce has introduced Claudeforce, a plug-in developed in collaboration with Anthropic. This feature integrates 37 sales tasks into Claude, aiming to assist CIOs in managing AI tasks rather than just its responses.
The companies have put significant effort into managing permissions for Claudeforce and are building 'Enterprise Frontier Safeguards' to keep Salesforce customer data private and prevent model behavior that could create unintended actions.
Claudeforce's positioning suggests Salesforce and Anthropic expect enterprise buyers to evaluate the integration as an extension of their CRM control plane.
The '37 skills' number itself is a practical benchmark for deployment readiness. When vendors sell 'agents', the more useful procurement question is what actions are actually implemented and supported out of the box, and what actions require custom prompts, custom tooling, or custom API work that will have to be owned and maintained.
Salesforce paired the Claudeforce news with a strong quarter. Revenue for the quarter ended July 31 rose 11% to $11.35 billion and Salesforce lifted its fiscal 2027 revenue outlook to $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion, up from a prior range of $45.9 billion to $46.2 billion.
