Salesforce Leaders Face Agentforce Adoption Hurdles Amid Scaling Challenges
The annual State of Salesforce report has shed light on user priorities and challenges in adopting Agentforce, a transformation engine for critical interactions. According to the 2026 report by IBM Consulting, leaders in the Salesforce ecosystem understand Agentforce's potential but face significant hurdles in capturing its value.
The report highlights that nearly half of respondents still have questions about how to scale agentic AI, despite 59% expecting benefits to outweigh effort and investment last year. The next 18 months will determine which organizations lead in enterprise AI orchestration and which remain trapped in experimentation.
IBM Consulting identifies four success factors for agentic rollout: assigning accountability, establishing clear data governance, re-designing workflows, and managing change systematically. However, Change Management is a significant inhibitor to success, with 69% of Chief AI Officers finding it moderately or very difficult.
To tackle these challenges, IBM Consulting advises organizations to focus on data unification and governance, architectural integration, and orchestration throughout the enterprise. This requires a solid data foundation, which most enterprises lack, having been designed for transactional efficiency rather than analytical access.
