Salesforce Must Face Lawsuit Over Massive Data Breach
Salesforce Inc. has been dealt a setback in its bid to dismiss a lawsuit over a massive data breach that exposed millions of customers' personal information.
In September 2025, the tech giant's systems were compromised, putting sensitive data at risk. Now, a federal court has ruled that Salesforce must face claims of negligence and violations of several consumer protection acts, including those in California, Illinois, and Washington.
The plaintiffs, who represent 18 corporate clients affected by the breach, alleged injury sufficient to pursue their case in federal court. The judge agreed, stating they had adequately pleaded claims of negligence and violations of the relevant laws.
