Salesforce Sees Sri Lanka as Key Growth Market in South Asia
South Asia President and CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya of Salesforce recently shared her insights on the company's growth strategy in Sri Lanka, highlighting its potential for digital transformation and sustainable business growth.
Bhattacharya emphasized that Sri Lanka is a compelling growth story within South Asia, with technical talent, entrepreneurial energy, and industries with strong regional and global ties converging. The country's national ambitions align with the world's trajectory, as reflected in Digital Sri Lanka 2030, which prioritizes skills, entrepreneurship, trusted digital services, and inclusive digitalization.
The World Bank's $50 million digital transformation project is also supporting this vision with real investment in digital public infrastructure and private-sector innovation. As a result, Sri Lanka has become the second-strongest startup ecosystem in South Asia after India, with software and data-driven businesses making up 60% of its startup base.
Salesforce has deliberately expanded its Startup Program to support this momentum, providing access to AI-powered technology, mentorship, community support, and joint go-to-market opportunities. The program aims to bring the experience and connections of Salesforce's regional ecosystem closer to Sri Lankan founders.
