Salesforce Shares Soar on JPMorgan's Bullish $250 Price Target
Salesforce shares rose 4.16% to $201.37 on August 13, after JPMorgan set an overweight rating and a $250 price target for the software company.
According to JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee, Salesforce can benefit from its core growth in the near term, despite artificial intelligence posing a risk to just a small segment of the business. The firm also views Headless 360, Data 360, and Agentforce as possible sources of upside.
The $250 price target implies a potential 24.1% gain from Thursday's closing price, corresponding to roughly $204.8 billion in market value, about $39.8 billion above the latest level.
However, Salesforce still faces a challenge in achieving the 'Rule of 50' by fiscal 2030, which combines revenue growth with operating margin. The company's current outlook results in a score of 45.3, creating a 4.7-point shortfall compared to JPMorgan's long-term benchmark.
The market capitalization of Salesforce increased by about $6.6 billion due to the rally during regular trading.
