Salesforce's share price jumped 10% on Monday, its best single-day gain since December 2024, as the company announced it will acquire Contentful, a Berlin-founded content management system platform. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of Salesforce's 2027 fiscal year.

Contentful provides an API-first 'headless' content management system (CMS), allowing developers to build custom interfaces for websites and applications. The company services over 4,800 enterprise brands, handling around 180 billion API calls per month.

The acquisition will integrate Contentful's platform across Salesforce's Customer 360 portfolio, filling a structural gap within its enterprise AI software platform, Agentforce. This integration will enable autonomous AI agents to query and render personalized branding, localized languages, and marketing assets based on real-time consumer context.
