Adjusted earnings per share came in at $5.90, significantly higher than the estimated $3.27. Salesforce also raised its full-year adjusted earnings guidance from a range of $14.06 to $14.12 per share to a new range of $16.67 to $16.71.

In addition to its own strong performance, several other stocks moved in pre-market trading. Mercer International gained 68% after announcing Canadian government funding for its Alberta pulp mill.

VolitionRX rose 53.3% following the publication of a peer-reviewed paper and editorial showing its Nu.Q NETs H3.1 biomarker predicts mortality and need for renal replacement therapy in sepsis patients.
