Salesforce Inc. (NYSE:CRM) shares surged as much as 20% on Thursday after the company posted a sweeping fiscal second-quarter beat and lifted its full-year outlook.

The enterprise software giant reported revenue for the quarter climbed 11% year-over-year to $11.35 billion, edging past the $11.32 billion analysts had projected.

Much of that profit surge was attributable to Salesforce's investment portfolio, with the company booking a $2.6 billion gain on its stake in AI startup Anthropic.

Salesforce management also raised its fiscal 2027 targets, with full-year revenue guidance moving to a range of $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion, up from the prior $45.9 billion to $46.2 billion range.
