Salesforce Stock Soars 23% Amid Strong Earnings Report
Salesforce stock has surged 23% in just one month to $242.40 as of Thursday afternoon, making it one of the sharpest movers in enterprise software. This impressive run puts Salesforce shares near their 52-week high heading into next week's Investor Day at Dreamforce.
The rally stands out because other software stocks have not participated. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF is down 4% over the same period, while Adobe stock has fallen 9% to $247.50 and ServiceNow stock has gained only 3% to $130.82.
Salesforce's strong performance can be attributed to its recent earnings report, which showed that Agentforce annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeded $1.5 billion, up more than 240% year over year. The company also unveiled a new AI partnership with Anthropic and announced the general availability of ClaudeForce in September.
However, some analysts caution that the quarterly earnings beat was partly due to a one-time investment gain, which added $2.53 to non-GAAP diluted EPS. This raises questions about the sustainability of Salesforce's growth.
