Salesforce Surges on Q2 Earnings Beat and AI Partnership
Salesforce Inc.'s stock surged by around 13% during Thursday's premarket session in response to its Q2 earnings report, which exceeded expectations and included upbeat guidance. The company also announced a new partnership with Anthropic called 'Claudeforce', combining their technologies for advanced AI models.
CEO Marc Benioff attributed Salesforce's growth to stronger bookings, customer retention, and expanding adoption of artificial intelligence across its core cloud products and Slack platform. He pointed out that the company has seen significant increases in year-over-year growth, with net new annual order value rising by the most in four years.
Bienoff emphasized the importance of enterprise data and applications in supporting AI models, rather than replacing them. The partnership with Anthropic, he said, is a key part of this strategy, allowing businesses to build new applications while extracting more value from existing information.
