Salesforce Trims Dozens More Jobs in San Francisco Amid AI Push
Salesforce, the cloud-software giant, has announced its fourth round of layoffs in San Francisco since 2025. The company is cutting dozens of positions at its headquarters, including 37 technology and product roles, 34 general administration jobs, and three sales and distribution positions.
The layoffs are part of Salesforce's ongoing restructuring efforts as it focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. Despite reporting a 13% increase in revenue to $11.1 billion for the quarter ended April 30, Salesforce has been reducing its workforce to reallocate resources toward AI development.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has emphasized the importance of AI in driving future growth. The company has rolled out a suite of generative-AI tools under the Einstein brand and is embedding autonomous agents across its sales, service, and marketing platforms.
