Salesforce Trims Jobs in Seattle and Bellevue Amid Ongoing Restructuring
Salesforce is cutting jobs in Washington state, specifically in Seattle and Bellevue. The company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the Washington Employment Security Department, indicating that 59 employees will lose their positions on October 5th.
The layoffs affect various roles across the company, including software engineers, technical support engineers, incident commanders, product management directors, and marketing and sustainability leadership staff. This is not the first round of restructuring at Salesforce this year; in fact, it's the third time the company has announced job cuts.
Salesforce has been emphasizing artificial intelligence as a key driver of efficiency. CEO Marc Benioff stated last year that AI tools are helping the company improve productivity even as it eliminated 93 positions in Washington state during separate layoffs.
