Salesforce Unveils Long-Horizon Agents to Boost Enterprise AI Adoption
Salesforce has announced an update to its Agentforce platform, which includes a family of 'job-ready agents' designed for long-horizon tasks across sales, service, and commerce workflows.
The new agents include Piper, Hunter, Casey, and others that automate IT and HR requests and product comparisons. These purpose-built agents aim to make AI more accessible to end-user organizations, addressing the challenges of deploying agents in the enterprise.
According to Salesforce EVP Jayesh Govindarajan, 'LLMs by themselves are not enough.' Agents need a 'harness' that brings context, control, and tools to complete tasks. Long-horizon agents can significantly impact workflows with less human intervention.
The success of Agentforce is evident in its results: the Piper pipeline agent has surfaced $82.5 million in leads since its launch in April, while over 1 million agent conversations have been managed on the Salesforce website.
