Salesforce's AI Platform Cleared for Sensitive Military Information
The US Defense Department has given Salesforce's AI-powered platform, Missionforce National Security, the green light to handle sensitive military information. This approval marks a significant milestone for the company, which won a $5.6 billion contract in January to build the platform.
Missionforce is the DoD-authorized variant of Salesforce's commercial Agentforce platform, a network of AI agents designed to support analysis and decision-making. The platform will allow human staff to focus on complex decisions while the AI handles routine tasks such as responding to inquiries and summarizing case histories.
The Army's Human Resources Command (HRC) is one of the first users of Missionforce, which will help handle over 1,500 personnel cases per day. According to Salesforce, the AI agents could save around $6 million annually while handling more than 55 million conversations a month.
