Salmonella Risk in Dog Supplements Sold on Amazon and Chewy

Dog owners are being warned about two supplements sold on Amazon and Chewy that may be contaminated with salmonella. The company Vet Plus, Inc. is recalling its Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs due to a potential risk to both pets and their owners.

The FDA notified the company that an ingredient in the supplements could be contaminated with salmonella. Pet owners should stop using the products and throw them away, making sure the lid is tightly sealed before doing so.

Dogs can carry salmonella without showing symptoms and may infect other pets or humans. Owners are advised to monitor themselves for signs of infection, which include nausea, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramping.
