Samsung's Underappreciated Gallery App Packs Surprising Punch
Samsung's Gallery app often flies under the radar in favor of Google Photos, but it has some impressive features that make it a better alternative for Galaxy users.
One of the standout features is Audio Eraser, which uses AI to detect and remove background noise from videos. It can identify up to six types of sounds, including voices, music, wind, nature, crowd, and noise, and allows users to adjust each sound individually or let the app do it automatically.
The Gallery app also has a range of photo editing tools powered by AI, including Object Eraser, Generative Edit, Sketch to Image, and Remaster. These features allow users to edit photos with ease, from simple tasks like removing unwanted objects to more complex tasks like creating photorealistic images.
In addition to these features, Samsung Gallery has a Create menu that lets users make collages, GIFs, and movies by combining multiple clips or photos. The app also has a hidden menu called Gallery Labs, which can be unlocked by rapidly tapping the version number in the settings page. This menu includes features like album entry-locks and AI Zoom.
Finally, the Gallery app has a batch editing feature called Gallery Assistant, which allows users to apply the same edits to multiple photos at once. This feature is not enabled by default and requires the Good Lock module to be installed separately.
