SanDisk Stock Soars 3400% Amid AI-Driven Demand Boom
SanDisk Corp has emerged as one of the most dramatic winners in the AI trade, with its stock soaring over 3,400% in just one year. Investors are betting on rising demand for flash memory used in data centers and AI inference workloads. The company's shares have gained a staggering 628.74% so far this year, making it the best-performing stock in the S&P 500.
JPMorgan has reinstated coverage of SanDisk with an Overweight rating and a price target of $2,250 on August 16. The firm's bullish view is based on three key points: SanDisk's dominance in the global NAND flash market, increasing demand for enterprise data center storage driven by AI inference workloads, and a new business model that provides more earnings visibility.
SanDisk's agreements with eight major customers cover about 50% of its bits in fiscal 2027 and roughly two-thirds of its bits in fiscal 2028. This gives investors confidence in the company's future demand and revenue prospects. The firm is also developing BiCS9 and BiCS10 QLC NAND technology, which will deliver a 60% increase in bit density compared to BiCS8.
While SanDisk's stock has seen an impressive rise, some on Wall Street believe there may be more room for growth. JPMorgan's $2,250 price target suggests that the rally could continue, driven by AI demand changing the storage market and SanDisk's positioning as a major player in this space.
