Sandy Lerner's Cat Collection Comes Up for Auction
Sandy Lerner, co-founder of Cisco Systems and founder of cosmetics brand Urban Decay, is auctioning off her extensive collection of cat-related artwork, objects, and jewelry. The collection, which includes pieces by Tiffany & Co. and Cartier, will be sold in a series of auctions held at Bonhams New York.
The first auction, 'The Sandy Lerner Cat Collection Part I', is scheduled for September 30 and features 66 items, including a lavender jade pendant depicting two cats on a necklace set with black and white diamonds. The pendant is estimated to sell for $14,000 to $18,000.
Lerner's collection includes cat jewelry from various designers, as well as decorative objects and artwork featuring felines. She describes the items as 'icons of human achievement' that she has personally chosen and lived with in her home.
