Saudi Investment Bank Ditches Stake in Amex Middle East Unit
The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB) has reached a deal to sell its 50% ownership stake in American Express Saudi Arabia for approximately USD 381.36 million, or SAR 1.43 billion.
The cash transaction is part of SAIB's effort to strengthen its financial position and align its portfolio with its strategic direction.
SAIB expects the deal to generate a gain of around USD 211.14 million (SAR 792.4M), as its investment in American Express Saudi Arabia had a book value of approximately USD 170 million as of November 30, 2025.
