Scheffler Shatters Record with Dominant Victory at FedEx St. Jude Championship
Scottie Scheffler dominated the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday, securing an eight-shot victory and the largest win margin in the tournament's 68-year history.
The win marked a return to form for Scheffler, who had been searching for his second title of the season after a stellar start with only one trophy to show from his season opener at The American Express.
Scheffler, who finished at 17-under-par 263, cruised through the final round with a 4-under-par 66 score. His victory eclipsed John Cook's previous record of seven-shot margin set in 1996.
The win also netted Scheffler $3.6 million from the prize fund and secured him an additional $23 million in bonus money for being No. 1 in the FedEx Cup through next week's BMW Championship.
