Scheffler Shatters Records with Dominant St. Jude Victory
Scottie Scheffler finally broke through his seven-month winless streak at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, dominating the competition to claim a record-breaking eight-shot victory.
The world No. 1 turned a two-shot Sunday lead into a convincing rout, shooting a final-round 4-under 66 to take the title by the largest margin in the tournament's 68-year history at TPC Southwind.
Scheffler's 17-under 263 total eclipsed Si Woo Kim by eight shots, with Sam Burns finishing third. This win marked a significant milestone for Scheffler, who had been plagued by near-misses and zero trophies after January's American Express victory.
'I felt like a week like this was coming,' Scheffler said. 'I felt like I was on repeat all year just being like, hey, I'm playing solid. I'm close. It feels good to be answering some different questions at the end of this week.'
