Scheffler Smashes Course Record with Thrilling Eight-Shot Win
Scottie Scheffler won his second PGA Tour title of the season on Sunday in the FedEx St. Jude Championship, capturing an eight-shot victory and setting a new course record.
The win marked a return to form for Scheffler, who had been seeking his first triumph since January's American Express tournament.
He closed with a 4-under-par 66 on Sunday, finishing at 17-under-par 263. This surpassed John Cook's seven-shot victory in 1996 as the largest margin of win at TPC Southwind.
Scheffler also secured an additional $23 million in bonus money for leading the FedEx Cup standings through next week's BMW Championship, where he has a commanding lead.
